Code of Conduct
Clonee United F.C. - Club Rules
The Leinster Senior League Rules & North Dublin Schoolboys League Rules are applicable to all members of Clonee United F.C. (Available upon request.)
For members to be considered for play in the current season, their annual subscription must be paid by agreed date. Non payment of Subs will result in in player not being eligible for team selection until payment is recieved. Exceptions may be made upon discussion between Committee & Club Member - decision is at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
First visit to Accident & Emergency Department will be paid for by Club, further medical expenses & queries regarding same must be brought to the Insurance Company's attention via Clonee United Executive Committee. The decision made by the Insurance Company is final.
All Junior & Youths members under the age of 16 must be accompanied to all training & on match days by a guardian (guardian over 18yrs.)
All school boys/girls playing junior football must play within their correct age group as & from season commencing '06/'07.
The Committee reserves the right to punish members for any misconduct on or off the pitch in relation to Clonee United F.C.
Any member found to be misrepresenting Clonee United F.C., or slandering Officials, Managers or other football clubs in our League, on Social Websites such as Bebo, Facebook etc. are liable to being expelled from membership of our Club. As per Rule 5. of Club Rules - The Committee reserves the right to punish members for any misconduct on or off the pitch in relation to Clonee United F.C.
The Club holds the right to discipline and withdraw membership to Clonee United as by decision of the Discipline Sub Committee. No refund will be given.
All players will pay their own fines unless over-ruled by the Executive Committee.
Any fines imposed by the NDSL or the Leinster Senior League as a result of the accumulation of bookings or sendings off may/will be passed onto the players involved at the discretion of the Disciplinary Committee and failure to reimburse the club will be viewed as a breach of the disciplinary policy. If a player is reported for violent conduct the club will impose an automatic minimum suspension of 2 weeks to run concurrently with any sanction imposed by the relevant league.
Complaints will not be heard unless they are in writing & handed to Junior or Senior Club Secretary. Please see guide to Disciplinary, Complaints & Appeals procedure here.
Misuse or loss of club equipment will incur a fine - as per rule No. 6.
Any type of photographers/film/video operators wishing to record an event or practice session should seek permission/accreditation with the children’s officer, team manager/coach and/or event organiser. Photographic equipment of any sort, and in particular camera phones, may not be used in dressing rooms/changing areas.
All decisions made by the Executive Committee are final.
CLONEE UNITED CODE OF CONDUCT
- Play for enjoyment, not just to please your parents or coach.
- Play by the Laws of the Game.
- Always accept the referee's decision.
- Play with control. Do not lose your temper.
- Play for yourself and your team - your team's performance will benefit and so will your own.
- Be a "good sport". Applaud all good play whether by your team or the opponent.
- Respect your opponent. Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not "bully" or take advantage of any player.
- Co-operate with the coach, team mates and opponents.
- Remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills, and feel good.
- At the final whistle applaud and thank your opponents and the referee for the match.
- Always remember that you owe a duty of care to your opponents.
- Tackle hard but fairly do not intend to hurt your opponent.
- Win with humility - lose with dignity.
Players
Always show respect for team-mates, managers / coaches, opponents and officials.
Always turn up on time for matches and training.
Be willing to learn and improve.
Always play to win but accept defeat like proper sportsman.
Always have commitment to your club and pride in your performance.
Ensure that your lifestyle helps rather than hinders your progress.
Pay your subs on time without having to be asked.
Arrive for training and matches with proper gear and boots.
Listen to advice given and ask questions if you don't understand.
Help out with equipment before and after matches and training.
Let the manager know, as soon as possible, if you are injured or sick.
Bullying will not be tolerated and if you feel you are being bullied feel safe to tell your manager.
Enjoy playing and training with Clonee United
Managers
Managers / Coaches will show respect for all players and officials and lead by example.
Be fully prepared for coaching sessions and matches. ( including First Aid Kit, etc.)
Ensure a safe environment for learning and development.
Managers / Coaches to keep themselves up to date with new ideas on coaching and development.
Encourage each player in terms of self-discipline, good behaviour and punctuality.
Be self-critical and not afraid to seek assistance.
Be familiar with the Child Protection Policy.
Liaise with Parents.
Ensure that all players are aware that all forms of bullying will not be tolerated.
Be generous with your praise when it is deserved.
Managers / Coaches must always display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
Parents
Always show respect for all players, opponents, and officials.
Have realistic expectations for your child and don't put him under undue pressure.
Ensure that your child arrives on time for training and matches and that safe arrangements are in place for getting your child home afterwards. Please note all minors must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
Leave coaching to the coaches.
Respect the managers / coaches decisions.
Assist when asked.
Accept disappointment, praise good work and refrain from criticising.
Support the club's fund raising activities where possible.
If your child requires hospital treatment a parent must attend.
